I’m sure you’ll get to this one Dr Mani. Here’s my thoughts. Blogs are a conversation and sharing comments is joining in the conversation. Your own blog may not be shown in the post but your name is and if you are consistent with your name and join in several different conversations and you make people laugh or think or empathise with you, people will notice and may remember. Don’t be a wallflower in forums or blogs. Join the conversation.

Genie, awesome point. Thanks for sharing that. Way back when I got started working online in 1996, I had next to zero experience - but it never fazed me. I’d jump right in to discussions on email lists and forums, make the silliest mistakes and gaffes - but not mind because I was LEARNING.

What I didn’t know then is that I was also BRANDING myself - and now that branding is priceless.

I love this advice - Don’t be a wallflower!
