This Blogging MARKETING post is a part of “2 Weeks To Launch Your Blog“.
Now let’s get into the specific high impact blog marketing methods that are capable of bringing you as many readers as you want or need.
Each tactic works. Not all work equally well, all the time. Most are free, but require you to spend some time and effort to make it happen.
Let’s begin:
Listing in directories
Once you have around 10 to 15 posts on your blog, begin submitting it to specialized blog directories.
Get as many of these done as possible. There are many different lists of directories.
If this takes too much time, outsource it to someone, but get it done. As your blog grows in content, the directories will drive more traffic to it - the sooner you begin the better.
Your blog automatically generates an RSS feed. This allows easy syndication of your blog content to other sites, and lets ’subscribers’ to your blog read it conveniently in a ‘feed reader’.
The quickest, easiest way to extend the reach of your feed is to submit it to various RSS feed directories.
There are hundreds of them - but don’t let that put you off. Start submitting today - and keep going for as many days as it takes to get your feed listed in many places.
Automated software to help you do this is available.
Pinging every blog post
Technorati tags - Read an explanatory article about it here
Technorati tags are a powerful marketing tactic for your blog, bringing you inbound links from an authority site as well as some targeted traffic.
An easy tool to generate Technorati tags for your blog posts is available at Evil Genius Marketing
Use the tool to generate tags for your blog posts. You may use the same common set of tags for all posts, or generate specific keyword rich tags targeted to each individual post you make.
Paste these tags to the end of every blog post before you publish it, and then ping Technorati to let them know you’ve updated it (this will be done automatically if you include Technorati’s RPC code in the list of services you ping)
Many Wordpress templates allow you to generate tags automatically, through plug-ins like Ultimate Tag Warrior - but these are not the same as Technorati tags which specifically ping Technorati (and bring some traffic back!)

Hi, Dr. Mani!
Thank you for your generosity in offering this course. I’m committed to completing it and learning to create a profitable blog. Although I’m a complete newbie - and technically challenged to boot - you say that it is possible to do this in 10 days and so, that’s enough to spur me onward!
I have some “between the lines” type questions and so, thanks in advance for sharing your expertise. My questions:
1) Day 1…
The Congenital Heart Defects graphic on the side of my blog is not appearing (I see a couple other folks have the same problem on their blogs, people listed within the 10 Day directory).
Instead of the graphic I have code there. I recopied & pasted your code from the lesson into the layout 2 or 3 separate times and still only the code appears, no graphic.
b - Also on Day 1: On what basis are the Adsense Ads selected or determined for one’s blog? Is it based on the words one uses in posts at all? It doesn’t appear to be random…I did expect that possibly some of the Adsense Ads might deal with congenital heart disease, but at times 7 of the 8 ads on my blog all deal with that subject with only 1 or 2 to dealing with the subject of the blog…online auctions.
For future reference I’d just like to know if there is anything a blog owner can do (writing or whatever) that would better the chances the Adsense Ads are related to the subject of one’s blog…so folks coming to the blog will more likely be drawn to click on subject related Adsense Ads and make money for the blog owner. Any tricks of the trade?
2) Day 2…
I just took a peek to see if my blog was listed yet in the 10 Day Blog Challenge Directory before sending this post and it’s listed! Would you take a peek at my listing though, Dr. Mani? The title for the entry is “Online Auctions” but clicking on that title - on the link, a sales page comes up for a set of your information products instead of going to my blog… www.onlineauctionsnook.blogspot.com
b) I had great difficulty with the FURL social bookmarking site and still can’t get any “bookmarks” loaded on there. Not sure what the snafu is. Delicious and Blink went fine…so I’ll load on the 20 fellow bloggers’ sites once their blog info is available.
On to Day 3 now…except it’s Day 4 now…EST! Running a bit behind! LOL!
Thank you again.
