At first, I wasn’t going to make one - because very rarely do they get ‘kept’.
Then, I wasn’t going to make them public - because I feel embarrassed when they don’t get done… and everyone knows!
But Marina Martin changed all that - because she’s going to be blogging about some of her friends’ resolutions… and hopefully she’ll work on mine and refine it in a way that’ll make it practical and do-able.
Look at the way she took Andrew Paradies’ new year resolution and shaped it into something more finite and actionable.
By the way, Marina has a very nice guide to setting and clearly defining New Year resolutions - and you can get the “Ultimate Guide to New Year Resolutions” for free from her blog - click here
So, after this long introduction, let’s get down to brass tacks. This is my New Year resolution for 2008…
I want to create systems for the various contact-management tasks I need to stay on top of - with donors, clients and even family and friends.
As of now, this is a hit-or-miss thing. Some days, I feel like writing or calling someone - and other days, I don’t. Many once-close relationships are now cold, remote and shaky.
It’s costing me a lot - in stress, loneliness and even money.
2008 is when I’ve decided to fix this - by creating systems for contact. That’s my New Year resolution.
What’s yours?
