Hi Dr. Mani,
The reason I believe that you are “Doing This All Wrong”, is to show that by following your own system and not following the crowd, you will be able to stand out from your “peers”, but more importantly, that you are fed up with those who hype their product or course as being the best new thing to help the newbies break into making money online and to be able to quit their day jobs, only to be left hanging without all the pieces of the puzzle. Then these newbies have spent money and made no return on their investment. I believe that you are trying this in a different direction, that by setting a lower price later on, that you will continue to build confidence in your buyers/subscribers to see that your product delivers what it promises, especially while waiting and receiving it at a lower price. Again, the usual system is to create a false sense of urgency by stating only a limited number of copies are available, and then to increase the price with a second relaunch later on. I feel that you are doing this your way to give back to everyone trying to make it online.
Secondly, do I think this will work? Most definitely! And you will be well rewarded for it along with your customers!
Thank you for this opportunity to share!
Best regards,
Paul

Dear Dr. Mani
I see 2 benefits which you are aiming for
a) Creaming off the premium buyers and
b) establishing a continuing sales stream
Regarding premium pricing - as you remarked, the iPhone is a classic example; but there are similar examples in IM too. For instance, the SCGM sales started off at $497 with full rights / PLR; subsequent sales of individual items starting at $97 with MRR, dropping to $27 / $17 with RR and even some free giveaways.
For the quick buyer who’s looking for resell rights - as long as he has adequate time to recoup his investment, he’s not going to be bothered if the price subsequently drops; that’s something he’s already factored in.
For the cost conscious / affiliate minded buyer - he doesn’t mind waiting for some time, to get a better deal.
This way, you are segmenting your buyer list - and can figure out what offers to send to whom!!
b) With the rising affiliate commission over time, what you are ensuring is that periodically, there’s a “something new” factor to enthuse the affiliates - who’ll then promote it all over again, thereby ensuring a continuing stream of interest.
Will it work? Depends on what you define as “work”.
I’m pretty sure you will get “some” sales - given your credibility, there will be buyers to cover the initial numbers. (15 resale rights + some affiliate minded buyers), plus some ongoing sales.
But what do YOU define as success?
