For many of us, ‘changing the world‘ is a BIG thing. Needing a lot of resources, pots of money, oodles of talent. But does it, really? No.
Not everyone wants to create huge shifts and tectonic upheavals. You can change the world by feeding a family, nursing a sick patient, educating a child.
Yes, even these small things make the world a different place. A better place. A nicer place.
And you can do it - right now. At least, start.
What you do need is determination. And a vision. Plus the stubborn persistence to stick with your mission.
It helps when the goals you set are ambitious, make you stretch and strain to achieve them.
Worthy, sublime, lofty goals set the spirit soaring to greater heights, inspiring us to super-human efforts.
I want to invite you to share one such goal - for the next 24 hours.
It’s a goal I set after hearing about it from Tim Ferriss, author of the best-selling “Four Hour Work-Week“.
The goal is to raise $10,000 to build a library for children - and to raise the funds BY TOMORROW!
How can I do it alone?
I probably cannot. But I don’t intend to. I want to involve YOU - and 99 others - in the plan, with each one setting a modest (yet ambitious) goal of raising $100 in the next 24 hours.
If 100 people raise $100 each, we’ll have a total of $10,000 - which “Room to Read” will use to build a library.
That’s what Tim Ferriss hopes will happen when his Litliberation.org teamed up with “Room to Read” to enhance literacy in the U.S. and some developing nations.
And all it involves is some work over the next 24 hours. Building the donation page (took me 3 minutes using the simple online tool). Telling a few friends and family members about it. Mailing a list if you have one.
