Exactly 9 years ago to this day, I sat nervously in a waiting room outside the obstetrics suite in the hospital, awaiting news.
At 12:41 p.m., I was invited into the annex to lay my eyes for the first time upon a person who was to charm, bedazzle and completely captivate me ever since… my little daughter.
The time since then has been bewildering, confusing, exciting, educational, and completely enjoyable.
Little else can compare with the incredible ups and downs of being a parent - and nothing else in one’s past really prepares you to deal with the pressures and pleasures of raising a child.
It has been a fun voyage - and I look forward to the next 9 years, while cherishing and gratefully remembering the ones that have passed.
