Today, I thought of letting everyone know about my new
exploration into Facebook - after my initial foray into
Twitter was quite rewarding.
Then, I watched a new video on Seth Godin’s blog about
Web 2.0 - and something he said in the last 1 minute
made me pause and think.
That’s why I chose to blog this instead. See the video
here:

I agree with Seth. Your interest in social networking can peak quite fast and your interest may die pretty quickly.
Your blog can demonstrate your thinking and qualities much better and build a reputation for the long run. I am sure you are already noticing that with this blog.

Excellent video, Dr Mani! Thanks for pointing it out. Really makes sense when you think about it. There are those emails / newsletters that we look forward to receiving even though we know they are from companies selling or other marketers, and then there are those that we delete as soon as we see the subject line, or worse unsubscribe from. It’s all about the relationship that’s been developed. As marketers, we should try to emulate the ones that we look forward to hearing from. Let people come to you, rather than ‘poking’ them - simple, but great concept!
