Arjuna Ranatunga the captain who won the World Cup to this island nation brought cheer to a country wrecked by ethnic violence and war for the past many years and has put national duty ahead of commercial interests. He is talking tough. He insists playing for the country against the English ranks way above playing in the IPL.

If the players want to play in the IPL then they should quit international cricket and do so said the Ranatunga dubbed Captain Cool.

The players are digging in their heels too. They don’t want to lose out on their lucrative contracts with their respective franchises by not playing during next IPL season which coincides with their English Tour.
