How Polyurethane Foam Molding Can Stop Concrete Basement Crack Leaks

Polyurethane foam molding has become an incredibly important tool in helping to fight concrete basement crack leaks. What you need to understand is the fact that concrete has a tendency to crack as a result of movement than naturally occurs over time.

As the ground that surrounds the concrete gets cold and warm with the changing of seasons, as well as with the rain and other natural elements, it can become somewhat more brittle and subject to cracking. The reason why polyurethane foam molding is so useful is because it literally reinforces the concrete in a unique way. It expands into many of the pores and naturally occur within the concrete so that any cracks that take place are actually filled and covered naturally by the foam itself.

Needless to say, there is a little bit of controversy surrounding this particular type of technique. The reason why is because some people believe it gives a false sense of security. For example, some have argued that polyurethane foam molding is only effective in very limited situations where the amount of cracking is minimal and the winner of relatively stable environment exists.

This is not entirely true. What you ultimately need to realize is the fact that polyurethane foam molding has been scientifically shown to be incredibly robust at stopping any moisture from penetrating into a basement or into the concrete itself.

It’s very important that the polyurethane foam molding be properly applied. The reason why is because you don’t find yourself in a situation where it has been applied incorrectly and then the assumption is being made that the polyurethane foam molding is simply not working. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In the final analysis, it really make sense to stop and ask yourself whether or not polyurethane foam molding is something you have ever really considered using. If not, then this is something that certainly merits your attention.

Do not be fooled a cheap imitations or by companies that claim that they produce something similar which will give you the results you’re seeking. More often than not, these are empty promises they cannot really be substantiated.

Also keep in mind that there are those who believe that polyurethane foam molding is not really as good as many people claim. As with anything, there will be certain instances in which using a particular type of foam may work better than in other situations. You need to just figure out what makes the most sense for you and your situation and then act accordingly.
